This book is the first volume of a series being prepared in the Arabic language to serve researchers in the history of the Ottoman period. in this project, documents relatingtothe Arablandson subjects such asadministrative history, ruraldevelopmentefforts,public works,public health,education, science andscholarship,pressandpublications,arecompiledandtranslatedinto Arabicandpublishedtogether with theLatin-script transcriptionsof thetexts in Ottoman Turkish.This firstvolumecontains104documents in total selectedfrom the Muhimmeregistersof the15th and16th centuries.Theoriginal text of each document is presented side by side with its Arabic translation where the reader can see the excellent loyalty of the latter to the former.
